During the Photo Camp, volunteer team leaders worked with groups of children from  Cite Soleil and Art Creation Foundation for Children (ACFFC) in Jacmel. We partnered with the community photographing daily life, humanitarian organizations, reforestation initiatives, local programs, neighborhood rebuilding, medical personnel, orphanages, and group homes for children. Volunteers mentored students to improve their photography skills, taught them how to edit and process images on a computer, and worked with them to print and exhibit their favorite images.

The Jouk Li Jou Kan Foto fosters the children’s photographic talents, not only boosting self-esteem and teaching practical technical skills for the future, but also empowering the young students to improve their lives through self reflection. The meeting up of students from different communities fosters both their art and socialization skills, and gives everyone in Jacmel a reason to celebrate something special.
