We submitted student photography taken during our first annual Jouk Li Jou Kan Foto this past July for the Community Based Photography category.
Zanmi Lakay was created because of the growing needs of street children in Haiti, and the seed was the Photography Workshops that began in 1997 when I was first living at Lafanmi Selavi and documenting the daily life of the 500 children living at Haiti’s largest and most well known group home. Dear Supporters,
Our biggest sale of the year is coming up this weekend at a really wonderful Fair in Berkeley!! Proceeds from this sale help support our Education Fund, Outreach Program, and Photography Workshops for street children in Haiti. We also think it is important to support artisans in Haiti so they can keep working and send their own children to school.
We will be joined by 10 other organizations that support women and children's programs locally and around the globe. A world of FAIR TRADE art will be showcased from Africa, Afghanistan, Central America, Asia, Mexico, Tibet, and Haiti. Shop for unique toys, jewelry, traditional metal art, ...
